It was bound to happen eventually and it did. It was time for lunch. We went to the bar and managed to procure such items as drinks and sandwiches. We found some chairs in the lounge and talked about our plans for the afternoon. Kathye, Rina and I decided to go for a walk and find a certain garage (gair’edge) Kirsty and Alys had mentioned.

Smoking?! Anita, you NAUGHTY girl!

As we stepped out of the hotel, we couldn’t help admiring St. Mary’s Church. I know I’ll always be grateful for it because it was the one landmark that allowed me to find the hotel! *g* Anyway, we managed to resist the urge to explore it (time was of the essence after all) and headed off to find the garage.
The new spokespeople for Coke?!! Kathye and I procure some much-needed supplies!*
We purposely took the longer route (Yeah, right!) and eventually found the garage. It was just as Kirsty and Alys had promised: It was filled with all the goodies we required! We purchased such essential supplies as bottles of Coke and Mint Aero bars, then made our way back to the hotel again.
When we returned from our expedition, we realized that the afternoon guest panel had begun, so we snuck in the back of the hall. I was amazed and delighted to see that Nickolas Grace and Stuart Linden had arrived! I’m still kicking myself for missing Nickolas Grace’s entrance, but I was in time to hear his hilarious Madonna story! Let’s just say that he had a very interesting experience on the set of Evita! *g* It was a great panel and Nickolas Grace was certainly worth the wait!
After the guest panel, we were treated to a wonderful example of a mummer’s play called “Fenris the Wolf,” an appropriate choice given the nature of this convention! This amusing and interesting retelling of the Fenris legend was written by Ian Henery and performed by drama students from Kidderminster College. I think the highlight of the play was the wolf itself. It had a huge, dark head and sharp fangs! It was a great production and I really enjoyed it.
